Cart Sheds in 15mm & 20mm scales...

...laser-cut wood buildings from 4Ground Models

Modern technology has brought a number of benefits to modellers, and one of these is the use of computers along with laser cutting tools.  Designed primarily for wargamers, these buildings from 4 Ground Models come pre-coloured and a simply excellent and fun to build.  They come in a pack of pre-coloured boards, the parts pre-cut. It is easy enough to press out the parts and clean up the small points which remain to connect them to the board.  They have good clear instructions, the fit of parts is very good, and glue together with simple white wood glue.

In this instance I am looking at a North European Cart Shed.  It is one of the buildings that can be combined to create a full farm complex.  The kits are available as a complete set, or individually.  The example I am using here is their Cart Shed, which is available in both 15mm and 20 mm scales.  They are also designed to enable you to put figures inside the building for gaming, and in this case vehicles/carts can be parked up in the base level.  There are usually two parts to each wall, both an outer and an inner face, so we get wood/stone/whitewashed surfaces inside and out.  The pictures show the assembled sheds, and a comparison between the size of the building in the 2 scales side by side.  You can also see how the roof and upper floor are designed to be removable.  I have really included this one by itself just so you can see the comparison of the two different scale/sizes.  Just in case you need it, 15mm will go with 1/100th models while 20mm is right for both 1/76 and 1/72 models.  Also, while they are aimed at wargaming, they are equally good for diorama modellers as well.
