Armoured D8 Dozer

Used particularly by 79th Armoured division in NW Europe from D-Day through to the end of the war, this was essentially the civilian model Caterpillar D8 dozer, but with the addition of armour plate protection for the driver.  The angle of the blade was adjustable and they proved to be a very useful bit of kit.  They could clear rubble, fill holes, move disabled vehicles and so on, a valuable asset to have in a set of military engineering equipment.

I pictured this one when it was on display at the War and Peace show on Folkestone Racecourse in 2014, the only time I have seen one for real.
