Einheits Diesel in 1/76...

...simple resin truck for the wargamer from Early War Miniatures

Early War Miniatures has been growing in leaps and bounds over the last few years, and if you see their trade stand at a show these days it highlights how large their product range it these days.  Figures, vehicles, wargames scenery and most recently buildings as well.

Many of their vehicle models are metal cast kits, but in recent times they have been altering many to be much simpler resin castings.  Also, that the resin they are using is very robust, so if you drop the model it doesn't brake.  This example is one I bought from them at the MAFVA Nationals this year (2017) and features the German Einheits Diesel truck.  The truck itself is all cast in one piece of resin, wheels and all.  There are then just 4 additional parts to add, and these are the canvas tilt for the cab, which is resin, while the 2 crew figures and the windscreen are cast in metal.  So it is very very simple to assemble and minimal clean up required.  The level of detail is nicely done and it does look right so this will be popular with the wargames market who want to get them assembles in numbers, and then painted an onto the gaming table.  If you are gaming with them you don't usually want details like fragile wing mirrors etc as they would be easily damaged by simple handling on the gaming table.

This one has now had a coat of primer and then a coat of Panzer Grey, using the Army Sprays sold by The Plastic Soldier Company.  I like the colour and they spray well, and dry quickly.  I need to paint some of the finer details (tools, etc) and complete the two crew figures.  I also want to add some stowage, for which I will turn to the resin accessory packs from 'Value Gear' then find some suitable transfers and finish off with some weathering.

This is a large range of models and still growing.
