Char 2C in 1/76...

...a resin kit from Gramodels

Graham Baker has been producing his range of resin models for many years.  This isn't a new model but one that is unusual enough in this scale that I thought I'd add it.  For 1/35 modellers, Meng do a plastic kit of the huge Char 2C bit what about for the small scale modeller?  An answer is this, a polyurethane resin model from Gramodels.  This one has been built, given a coat of primer and then painted in a representative French camouflage pattern, plus a filter coat.  It still needs to have details such as the machine guns painted markings, and some weathering for the tracks and body.  Not a model we see too often in this scale.

Built in the 1930s, just 10 of these 69 ton tanks were built.  Six were operational in 1940 and all were knocked out and captured in the German Blitzkrieg.  It had two engines, one for each track and a crew of no less than 17!  It was also unusual for having two fighting compartments, one at each end, divided by the engines.
