Omaha Beach Museum Sherman

The Sherman is among the best known tanks of WW2.  This particular example, with the left hand track not seated on the drive sprocket correctly, sits in front of the Omaha Beach Museum in Normandy.  It also sits with one of the old beach obstacles, a 'Czech Hedgehog'.  This were so named because they had been part of a Czech border defence line, and the Germans simply moved them over to the Normandy beaches as part of their Atlantic Wall defences.  Inside the Museum itself there is an excellent collection of exhibits remembering the D-Day landings.  Lots of uniforms and equipment, as well as a number of smaller vehicles as well.
