M60A3 MBT in 15mm scale...

...5 kits for the wargames market in the one box, from The Plastic Soldier Company

The latest AFV release in their 15mm scale range from The Plastic Soldier Company comes another Cold War subject to accompany their T55s, the American M60A3 MBT.  The M60 was a development of the earlier M48 which entered service in the early 1960s.  It was in the late '70s that the upgraded M60A3 was developed and it stayed in service (with US Army training units in Germany) until 2005.  It still remains in service with a number of other nations around the world.

There are 5 complete kits in the box and it builds up very neatly.  One tip with the hull, fit the rear plate to the upper hull, which locates very nicely, and then fit the lower hull to those two.  I like the way they have engineered the track units, each in two halves, and then fit so well with the rounded lower hull.  There are two half figures included so you can build the models with the turret hatches open or closed.  It isn't a complex kit so a straightforward build and no problems with fit of parts.  So, to be able to build up 5 in a short space of time is ideal for the wargamer. There are options in colour schemes, the box art illustrating the multi-colour MRDC schemes commonly used on US equipment in Europe during the Cold War period.  There are no transfers included in the kit.

For the gamer, with 5 per box, this is good for building up your units. (I'll add the photos of the assembled models soon...)
