Military Model Scene

I built this a while ago as part of a Group build project on the Militarymodelling.com website as a memorial to one of the forum member, John Widdowson ('Johnny Gers') who passed away while still only in his early 40's.  He was a super chap who was a very keen modeller and who enjoyed new challenges and a wide variety of subjects.

Tamiya kits always go together well and this one is no exception.  It is a bit different for being an example of the popular subject of the Stug III but this time in the colours and markings of the Finnish Army.  There are a couple of completion and marking options provided for in the kit.  The box art illustrates one with the extra log 'side armour' though I chose the alternative without them.  For the colours, I used the Lifecolor set for Finnish Army colours of WW2 and these work very nicely and were brush painted on this one.
