...a resin kit from Matador Models, previously a Cromwell Models kit

Chieftain ARV in 1/76...

Another recent addition to the Matador Models range of 1/76 post-war models, the Armoured Recovery Version of the Chieftain MBT.    It is shown here built, but only painted in a grey primer.

Originally this model was part of the Cromwell Models range of 1/76 kits which have been difficult to obtain, but now Matador have taken over part of their 1/76 range of kits, as Cromwell only make 1/72 models these days.  A model cast in polyurethane resin, there are not a huge number of parts to this one.  The hull is cast in one piece, with plenty of detail cast integrally with it and you fit the two track units into place.  Clean up of parts is minimal and assembly with superglue makes it a straightforward build.  The other small parts include the dozer blade for the front, two crew hatches, spotlight, jerricans to fit in the racks on the side and a cable reel that fits on the back of the hull.  Once built, a coat of primer should be applied before you apply your chosen colour scheme.
