Another addition to the Top Drawings series of softcover books from Kagero, number 67.  This one is on the final versions of the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The background is explained in an introductory text on the first page, provided in both English and Polish.

With 24 pages plus a larger, fold-out sheet tucked into the book, there are some neatly drawn scale plans in both 1/48 and 1/72 scales, while the 4 centre pages plus the back cover carry some equally fine colour profiles illustrating a mix of camouflage and marking schemes. Also included, just to emphasise the link to modellers, there is also a set of national markings (crosses) masks included, to be used with the 1/72 and 1/48 scale kits.  The bulk of the plans are all 1/48, and cover from the Bf 109 G variants, while the K is covered on the separate sheet which is tucked within the pages of the book.  The final 4 pages are all in 1/72, and these include shaded elements which indicate the structural differences between the different variants, particularly changes in engine cowlings and injectors, and changes in the shape of the tail to cope with more powerful engines.  As for the colour artwork, the centre pages carry super illustrations of a Bf 109 in grey camouflage and markings that feature a late war scheme that would make for a colourful model subject.

Another good addition to this series from Kagero, ideal for the aircraft modeller.
